The Parlour Deck is back!

Card magic for a larger audience.

Poker cards are perfect for close-up magic. But as soon as a small group of spectators turns into a parlour situation with 100 or 200 people, standard playing cards reach their limits.

That’s exactly why we developed the Parlour Deck.

At 75 × 100 mm (3″ x 4″), Parlour cards are significantly larger than poker cards (63 × 88 mm / 2.5″ x 3.5″) and therefore much easier to see. To your spectators however, they still look like a perfectly normal playing card deck – not like oversized jumbo cards, a special magic prop.

This makes classic card magic visible and understandable even to a larger audience – without a camera or screen.

The Right Balance Between Visibility and Card Magic

Jumbo cards are highly visible, but many of the techniques a card magician has spent years mastering can no longer be performed with them.

The size of the Parlour Deck was therefore chosen deliberately: large enough for significantly better visibility, but small enough to accommodate the card manipulation techniques you’ve already mastered.

Double lifts, numerous counts, forces, false shuffles, Faros, and many other familiar techniques can be adapted to the Parlour format. The cards will naturally feel larger at first, but you’ll get used to the format surprisingly quickly.

And that is actually an interesting side effect:

When you pick up a poker deck again afterward, you’ll notice how small and light the cards suddenly feel—almost as if you were performing your usual poker techniques with bridge cards.

It’s not just the index that determines what your audience sees.

From a greater distance, a spectator cannot recognize a playing card by its index alone. The overall design of the face of the card is just as important.

The Parlour index is highly visible. At the same time, the center pips, as well as the Jack, Queen, and King, retain virtually the same familiar size as on a standard poker deck.

The result is a playing card that can be easily recognized even from a distance while still retaining its familiar appearance.
