You begin by displaying a deck of cards in which every single card has a different back design. No two backs are the same.

You then openly remove two cards for yourself and hand the remaining deck to a spectator.

Now the control is entirely in their hands. The spectator deals cards face down, as many as they wish, and stops at any moment they choose.

At this exact point, you place your first card face up into the deck to clearly mark where the spectator stopped.

The spectator continues dealing or mixing the cards and stops freely a second time.

You then place your second card face up at this precise position.

And now comes the astonishing revelation:

Despite the spectator having complete freedom to stop whenever they wanted, your two cards have exactly the same back designs as the two cards where the spectator stopped during their own dealing.

A coincidence? Highly unlikely.

But the surprise does not end there. All four cards are turned face up, revealing that not only the backs match perfectly, but the faces do as well.
